RESIZING YOUR IMAGES
There are several free programs available on-line that can be used to edit your images. Below are a few examples with instructions for changing the size of your image.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download the GIMP PROGRAM

2. Open your image in the “Gimp” program

3. Under the “Image” Tab, select “Resize”.

4. Make certain that the “Resolution” is 72 pixels/inch.

5. Since this image is vertically oriented (also known as “Portrait”) change the Height to 600 pxls.  This should automatically change the Width to maintain the original proportion.

6. If your image is horizontally oriented (sometimes known as “Landscape”) change the Width to 600 pxls.  This should automatically change the Height to maintain the original proportion.

7.Click “Scale”.

8. Then under the "File" tab, select “SAVE AS”: “Last Name_First Name_Title.jpg”, such as  “Doe_John_MyPaintingTitle.jpg”.

SUBMIT YOUR RESIZED IMAGE: "Doe_John_MyPaintingTitle.jpg".

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download the LAZPAINT PROGRAM

2. Open your image in the “Lazpaint” program

    3. Under the “Image” Tab, select “Resample…”.

4. Change the Width or Height – whichever is the larger - to 600. Make certain that “Keep Aspect Ratio” box is checked.   This should automatically change the larger dimension and maintain the original proportions.

5. Then under the “File” tab, select “SAVE AS” – Changwe the File Name to: “Last Name_First Name_Entry Number.jpg”, such as  “Doe_John_2.jpg”.

    Then under the "File" tab, select “SAVE AS”: Last Name_First Name_Title.jpg”, such as  “Doe_John_MyPaintingTitle.jpg”.  
   

SUBMIT YOUR RESIZED IMAGE "Doe_John_MyPaintingTitle.jpg".

  picaso PICASA INSTRUCTIONS

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download the PICASA PROGRAM.

2. Open your image in the “Picasa” program.

3. Under the “File” Tab, select “Export Picture to Folder”.

4. Give your Image a Folder and Location.

5. Under “Image Size” select the “Resize” button and set the sliding scale to 600 pxls.  This should automatically change the larger dimension and maintain the original proportions.

6. Click “Export”.

7. You can find your resized image in the folder you created.

8. Then under the "File" tab, select “SAVE AS”:Last Name_First Name_Title.jpg”, such as  “Doe_John_MyPaintingTitle.jpg”.
