I am a 48 year old full time fine artist from Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania. I am a self-taught artist. Fine art has always been my love, colored pencils my chosen medium. Subjects range from floral, portraits, garden themes, nature, to ocean and seashore works. Upholding beauty and the uplifting is a major focus. Much of this is a beauty we can see and know in an accessible nearness. How much there is indeed in things right before us. An emphasis on realism and faithfulness to subject is very important to me.
Works by commission/request entail much of my work. Artworks are also available for sale from the collection.
Examples of my art, as well as an interview and simple drawing lesson were featured in the American Rose Society’s 2012 Winter Kidz N’ Roses newsletter.
Since March of 2012 I have been represented by Just Around the Corner, Easton, PA. There are currently seven works for sale there. I have also taken part in group shows at St John’s gallery in Easton, PA.
This past November it was my honor to give a colored pencils demonstration of my work at the Forks Area Art Society, Forks Township, PA. The techniques I use, with a demonstration piece as well as other examples were shown. I will also be giving another demonstration in April 2013 with the Paint Box Art Club, Bethlehem, PA.
The work “Respect for Others”, 15” x 22”, colored pencils was a full page feature in the October issue of COLORED PENCIL Magazine, along with text by myself concerning the work.
My work can be seen extensively online. I do have a professional artist web site, a Facebook art page, and the blog “The Artist’s Corner” (When presenting my artworks I often share thoughts, feelings, and inspirational writing connected with them. They are here presented in my blog with each of the works they relate to, as well as topics and reflections). In the coming months a major project concerning Giclee prints of my artwork will be a focus for the year.
