ARTIST STATEMENT

Born and brought up in a politically and culturally vibrant city called Kolkata(Calcutta),India. Did my BFA in painting and then move to western part of India, Baroda to learn Printmaking.

My work always remain socio political and human condition in that respect. I did a lot of drawings to reach the core of my thoughts and later on in printmaking and in other mediums of painting. The primary area of my work is based on struggle of the common people to live in a society where in the name of urbanization ,industrialization displaced so many people from their own land. Innocent lives been lost for narrow political and religious violence. I've witnessed few major massacres in my life in India.

The works depicts the helplessness and the insecurity of people who are been exploited by the hand of political leaders. It also carries my love for nature which is also been threatened by the human greed. My work is the refection of silent protest against all this social and environmental damages and hope to make this beautiful planet more liveable for everyone.
