  PORTRAIT PAINTING
Capturing the personality and likeness of an individual is the main objective of a portrait artist. This course provides an intensive, but fun approach to mastering the proportions of the head and the figure overall. Painting from photos, master copies, and life, students will work on exer-cises that allow them to grow and eventually think quickly as they are forced to analyze planes, shapes, and values in a limited time-frame. Ultimately, these exercises will make it easier when a longer pose is introduced and they produce a final, more finished painting. Material list will be provided at registration.
