 Museum Statement
The Annual Juried Art Exhibition was founded by the Monmouth County Arts Council in 1979 and for 34 years it has been held at the Monmouth Museum. In 2011 the Museum assumed complete sponsorship of this annual exhibition. We will continue to build on the excellent reputation of this long-established exhibition and champion its success for many years to come.

Stacy Smith, Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, Manager of Publications and Communications. Smith was the former Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the Noyes Museum of Art, Oceanville, NJ.

Open to all artists world-wide age 17 and over. All artwork entered must be the artist’s original creations completed within the last five years, and must not have been exhibited in past Monmouth Museum exhibitions.

Submission Fees
$20 per piece entered (limit 4 pieces).

Submission Guidelines
Artwork will be considered in all media through online submission of digital jpeg images only. Submissions are limited to a maximum of FOUR pieces. Acceptance into the exhibition is not guaranteed with entry. The Monmouth Museum reserves the right to reject work delivered at the time of the exhibition that is not the artist's accepted work, or does not meet the criteria set by the curator. Selected artwork must be wired, framed (if media applicable) and ready to hang (no saw-tooth hangers). Painted, gallery-wrapped canvas is acceptable.  Artworks must be no more than 7 feet in height or and able to fit through a standard door. Pedestals must be provided by all NJ artists for all three-dimensional entries (when appropriate). Entered and accepted work cannot be substituted. All work must be available for the duration of the exhibition.

SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE: 72 dpi JPEG Images, contact Information (Name Address, Phone and Email) and payment.

Digital Submission Specifications: DO NOT submit more than 4 images, unless work is three-dimensional. One additional detail image for 3D work will be accepted (2 total for each 3D entry).

IMPORTANT: Each digital image must be saved in JPEG format, sized at a resolution of 72 dpi (psi) and no larger than 600 pixels in any direction. If you need directions for changing the size of your image, please see for a variety of options. If selected for the exhibition, you may be requested to submit a 300 dpi (psi) file.
Name images with consecutive numbers from 1 - 4.
Images must be labeled LastName_FirstName_EntryNumber.jpg (Such as Smith_Joe_1.jpg or Doe_Jane_3.jpg)
Three-dimensional image details must be labeled in the following format:
LastName_FirstName_EntryNumber_detail.jpg (Such as Smith_Joe1_detail.jpg or Doe_Jane_3_detail.jpg.jpg)

December 6, 2013:    SUBMISSION DEADLINE: by 8:00 am EST           
December 27, 2013:  Announcement of Accepted Artists. A list of artists accepted into the exhibition will be posted on the Monmouth Museum website: and Facebook and Twitter.
January 10, 2014:   Receiving Date - accepted artworks due at the Museum,
10 am - 8:00 pm.
January 18, 2014:   Opening Reception 4 - 6:00 pm.
March 10, 2014:   Pick-up artwork 10 am - 5:00 pm.

Awards: The Monmouth Museum will present 4 monetary Juror Awards and 4 Honorable Mention Awards at the Opening Reception.

Sale of Artwork: The Monmouth Museum encourages the sale of exhibited artwork. The Monmouth Museum will collect the purchase price for all work, take a 20% sales commission and issue a check for the remainder to the artist at the close of the exhibition.
